On 4 December 2025, the EU Council and the European Parliament reached a provisional agreement on amendments to the Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
Parliament will vote on the agreement at its plenary session from 15–18 December 2025. The agreed text must be approved by both Parliament and the Council and must be published in the Official Journal of the EU by the end of 2025 (it will enter into force on the third day following its publication) in order for the changes to take effect. Otherwise, the currently established deadlines will apply, i.e., 30 December 2025.
We have already informed you HERE about the new EUDR application deadlines as well as the proposed simplifications. In addition, printed products such as books, newspapers or other graphic/printed goods are also expected to be newly exempted from EUDR obligations.
