We have prepared a concise overview of the most important changes that the upcoming PPWR Regulation will bring to packaging and products placed on the market. From 2026 onwards, the definition of packaging will change significantly, new obligations related to compostable materials will be introduced, and the changes will also affect coffee capsules, tea bags, and various disposable products.
The material focuses in particular on:
- changes in the definition and categorisation of packaging under PPWR,
- new compostability requirements for selected packaging formats,
- practical impacts on producers, importers, and EPR obligations.
